You should never ignore a toothache and they rarely go away.
Toothaches can vary in intensity, from keeping you up all night, to a dull or intermittent pain or occasional twinge. A toothache is commonly felt in or around your tooth and is often caused by tooth decay or infection.
Toothaches are usually not life-threatening, but in some cases they can be signs of serious conditions that require immediate dental or sometime medical treatment. If you feel toothache you may experience throbbing pain, swelling, sharp pain if you bite down or tap the tooth, painful sensitivity (especially to hot and cold), or even a fever.
Using pain relievers may provide temporary relief, although seeing one of our dentists here at Tendler Dental is highly recommended. Our dentists can assess your situation, provide pain relief, and advise you on the best treatment plan for you, and have you smiling again.
